Oreo Cheesecake

Ingredients:

  • Full package of OREO Cookies
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 5 packages cream cheese (8 oz. each) softened / at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla (or maple syrup as a substitute)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • cooking spray or aluminum foil
  • mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • chocolate strup (optional)

Recipe:

*Recipe without images is below*

  1. Let your cream cheese, eggs, and sour cream out to get to room temperature. I like to open up my packages of cream cheese like this so they soften quicker.
2. Finely crush an entire row and half of Oreos. Mix with melted butter. Line pan (I used a 10inch round pan) with cooking spray or aluminum foil with the ends extending over sides. This is to make sure the cheesecake doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pant. Press the Oreo crumb and butter mixture to the bottom of the pan and a little up the edges.
3. Beat cream cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla (or maple syrup) with mixer until well blended.
4. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended.
5. Crush half of the leftover oreos into small chunks and fold into mixture. Pour over crust.
6. Bake 40 min. or until center is almost set. Cool completely. Refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
7. Prior to serving, top with chocolate syrup, mini chocolate chips, and decorate with remaining Oreo crumbs and cookies!

Hi, I'm the founder of The PhDream. I'm a second year doctoral student who wasn't satisfied with just sitting behind a desk and writing papers. While my research may have an indirect impact, I wanted to engage more directly with the community and provide a platform to discuss neglected and sensitive issues. Along with that, I try to stay sane in my program by stress baking, glamming up even when I'm down, and sharing my dad-joke captions on the gram -- if only that creativity could translate into my research... Anyways, I'm always looking for contributors, collaborations, and people to eat my zelicious creations, so don't hesitate to reach out or follow me @ZuniJilani :)
