April Ipsy Bag

Soo…. I really tried to record and make a video out of testing these products but some things came out blurry and it was pretty much a fail. I’m trying again with my Sephora Play Box so lets see what happens! Anyways, here are the deetz on the products I received this month.

Detoxifying Hair Mask

Why You’ll Love It

  • As most hairstylists say, the key to healthy hair = a healthy scalp. With ingredients like shea butter and bamboo extract, this formula works wonders to keep your scalp balanced and happy.
  • The texture is so different from any hair masks we’ve tried. It’s kind of grainy (not in an icky way) thanks to tiny bits of granulated charcoal that remove dirt and impurities from each and every strand.
  • It strengthens, nourishes, and cleanses your hair without stripping it of moisture. And the scent is sooo refreshing.

How to Use It

Deep Clean Your Hair (and Scalp)
  1. Start with damp hair.
  2. Separate your hair into sections.
  3. Take a quarter-sized dollop in the palm of your hand, and apply it to one section of your scalp. Then, work it through the length of your hair.
  4. Repeat allover.
  5. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Take a #hairmaskselfie because…why not?
  6. Rinse it all out with warm water.

Overall thoughts: I really loved this hair mask! I’m legit considering buying more because of how clean my hair felt. My hair was less oily, but also less dry. It felt extremely healthy and I loved that I didn’t have any dandruff. This is better than any shampoo I’ve used too. I think this is going to be a new staple in beauty collection. I highly recommend this to anyone with any hair type; especially those who have oily roots or dry scalp with dandruff.

Romantic Rose Blending Brush

Why You’ll Love It

  • This glam rose gold brush makes blending all your powder, liquid, and cream shadow formulas easy-peasy.
  • Wanna try a cut crease? Go for it. The rounded shape of the bristles are ideal for reaching into the contours of your eyelid and crease.
  • The super soft fiber bristles make your makeup application totally streak free.

Overall thoughts: Eh, this was an okay brush. It did its job but I’m not particularly wow-ed by it. But I’m happy to have it!

Banana Setting Powder in Medium

Why You’ll Love It

  • We’re *bananas* for this color-correcting powder that camouflages redness, dark circles, and spots.
  • Since it’s a loose, translucent formula it looks super natural (not cakey or heavy).
  • It’ll brighten up your lids, too. This powder also works as an awesome base for any eyeshadow shade.

How to Use It

Brighten Up Under Eyes with Setting Powder
1. Apply under eye concealer as usual.
2. Tap a small amount of powder into the lid.
3. Dab a sponge into the powder and gently dab it on the under-eye area over concealer.
4. Let it sit for a few minutes, then use your brush to dust off any excess.
Overall thoughts: This is so great because I ran out of my banana setting powder! Love this and will be using it often. It compares well to other well known brands.

Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza

Why You’ll Love It

  • We are so stoked to have these in our April Glam Bag. Not only are the colors fresh and springy, but they just might be the smoothest, creamiest, dreamiest matte lip colors we’ve tried.
  • The formula is highly-pigmented, buildable, and lightweight. It doesn’t feel heavy on your lips—so feel free to layer it on.
  • It’s long-lasting and has a yummy, sweet scent. Oh, and it’s smooch-proof!
  • Ibiza is a deep rosy-pink.

How to Use It

Master Your Matte Lip Looks
  1. Using the applicator wand, line your lips.
  2. Fill in the rest of your lips.
  3. Blot your lips on a clean tissue.

Tip: Start by exfoliating your lips with a scrub to get them nice and smooth.

Overall thoughts: Woah. This is definitely a POP of color. Normally I am not a huge fan of bright lipsticks, or pink lipsticks, but somehow this really works well on my skin tone! However, I’m not a fan of the smell of it – at least I only have to deal with that temporarily in application. It also has a very creamy, easy consistency that just glides on your lips.

Triple Moisture Body Lotion in Coconut & Cream

Why You’ll Love It

  • Is love at first sniff a thing? This sweet-smelling coconutty body cream has us saying yes.
  • The insanely rich blend of coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe vera leaves our skin SUPER hydrated and oh-so smooth.
  • Not a fan of heavy body butters? This formula has a light, whipped consistency, so it feels really light (not greasy or sticky.)

How to Use It

3 Steps to Your Softest Skin Ever
  1. After bathing, slather a generous amount allover damp skin.
  2. Spend a little extra time on extra dry areas (like elbows and knees).
  3. Slip on a warm, cozy robe. The heat will help the moisturizers soak right in.

Tip: Skip your perfume! This tropical-scented cream doubles up as a fragrance.

Overall thoughts: Smells like coconuts and a tropical vacation lol. This hand lotion is super moisturizing. Keeping this in my backpack for my new everyday lotion 🙂
